About Gstaad Hotel Guide
A hand-picked, photo-led guide to the hotels you can book in Gstaad and the villages around it, with the facts that decide a booking set side by side.
What this is
The Gstaad area is small, but its hotels are spread over a dozen villages on two sides of a language border: Saanen, Schönried, Saanenmöser, Lauenen and Gsteig on the Bernese side, Les Diablerets, Rougemont and Château-d’Oex in Vaud. Their websites describe each hotel in its own terms. This guide puts them on one page each, written the same way, so they can be compared: what the hotel is like, who it suits, what the catch is, how far it is from the lifts and from the Glacier 3000 cable car, and how to book it.
A selection, not a ranking
The guide covers hotels you can book online and that have photographs to show what they are like, from the five-star palaces to small family-run hotels. Small inns without either are not listed, and neither are private chalets, holiday flats, bed and breakfasts, guesthouses or hostels.
The lists are not rankings. Village pages order hotels by classification and then size, and the guides group them by what they offer.
Independent
Gstaad Hotel Guide is not connected with Gstaad Saanenland Tourism, the Alpes Vaudoises or Pays-d’Enhaut tourist offices, the Glacier 3000 operator or any hotel. Hotels cannot pay to be included or to change what is said about them.
How the site is paid for
Where Expedia sells a hotel, the booking button goes to Expedia, which pays this site a commission on completed stays. The price you pay is Expedia’s and is not changed by the link. Where Expedia does not sell a hotel, the button goes to the hotel’s own website and earns nothing.
