Les Diablerets is the end of the R71 line from Aigle, run by TPC, with a stop at Vers-l'Église on the way. From Geneva Airport the train via Aigle takes about two and a half hours. PostBus 180 runs from the village to Col du Pillon in about 13 minutes and on over the pass to Gsteig and Gstaad, about 44 minutes in all. By car, Aigle is the way in from Lake Geneva.
Les Diablerets is one of the entry points to the connected Villars, Gryon and Les Diablerets area, which runs from 1,200 m to 2,113 m. The Diablerets Express and chairlifts such as Les Vioz to Les Mazots, Jorasse and Ruvine start around the village, and Vers-l'Église has its own tow. Glacier 3000 at Col du Pillon adds higher skiing from November to April. There is also a 7 km sled run.
Hotel stays here come with the Carte Bienvenue, not the Gstaad Card. It covers the buses to Col du Pillon for Glacier 3000 and to Villars, free entry to the Musée des Ormonts, ice rink and, in winter, cross-country tracks, and reduced fares on Glacier 3000 and the Diablerets Express. A visitor's tax is charged per night.
Visitor's tax: CHF 3.80 per adult per night, from age 16, for stays of up to 31 nights. Ages 6 to 15 pay CHF 1.90 per night. Source
No. Les Diablerets is in Vaud, outside the Gstaad holiday region, so hotel guests get the Carte Bienvenue instead. It covers the buses to Glacier 3000 and to Villars, but its free bus runs only as far as Col du Pillon, not on to Gsteig and Gstaad.
It is about 8 minutes by car to Col du Pillon, where there is a paid car park, or about 13 minutes by bus, free with the Carte Bienvenue. In the ski season extra buses run in the morning. Glacier 3000 can close in strong wind, so check its live status first.
No, about 1.5 km down the valley and one stop on the train from Aigle. It has its own small ski tow, while the main lifts and the bus to Glacier 3000 start in Les Diablerets, a few minutes away. The Carte Bienvenue applies here too.
