On our lists

The Auberge de la Poste is a 1789 chalet with red shutters on Rue de la Gare, in the middle of Les Diablerets, run by the Pichard family for more than a century. It has ten rooms in the old wood of the house, plus two in the Chalet de la Bergère, and a restaurant that makes about 95 per cent of its food in-house, with fondues from the valley and Swiss dishes.

Rooms are small, 9 to 15 m² for standard rooms and 15 to 20 m² for family and premium rooms, in keeping with the age of the building. Transport and the ski area are close by, and the Glacier 3000 cable car at Col du Pillon is about six minutes by car. Winter 2026/27 is probably the last hotel season: the building is to be sold and thoroughly renovated after 11 April 2027. It suits anyone who wants a real old inn in the village centre while it lasts.
