Hôtel de Rougemont & Spa sits on the slope above Rougemont, a Vaud village west of Gstaad. All 33 rooms and suites face south and have a terrace, so the view over the village and the Rübli comes with every room. The hotel is classed 4-star superior and also lets the Grand Chalet de Rougemont, a private chalet with five suites.
The spa has a heated indoor pool, sauna, hammam and a fitness room. Downstairs life centres on The Chelsea Restaurant, a lounge with a fire, a wine room, a cigar room and a private cinema. It is not a ski hotel: the La Videmanette gondola is in the village, not at the door. It suits couples and small groups who want space, a pool and a calm village rather than Gstaad's bustle.

Good to know
The hotel publishes no seasonal closure. Glacier 3000 at Col du Pillon is about 29 minutes' drive in clear conditions. The Pass d'Enhaut covers the train to Gstaad all year, but it includes the bus on to Col du Pillon in summer only.
