Where to stay for Glacier 30008 minutes; six rooms in Vers-l’Église

The Auberge de l'Ours stands on the square in Vers-l'Église, the hamlet below Les Diablerets. The building dates from 1833, and an inn of this name is recorded here as far back as 1621. Since the end of 2023 it has been run by Emilie and Alain Figuet, who came from Geneva, and the kitchen is the reason to come: bistro-style cooking and mountain dishes with a Breton influence, reviewed by Gault&Millau.

There are six rooms, from a double to a duplex for five to seven people, and they can be arranged to fit the party. The inn is near the railway station, and the Glacier 3000 cable car at Col du Pillon is about 6.7 km away, roughly eight minutes by car. It suits food lovers, couples and larger families who want to eat downstairs and sleep upstairs, in a small place with a long history.

Open daily from 09:00 to midnight. A spring closure like the one in 2026 (20 April to 31 May) is possible in 2027, but dates are not out yet. The bus from Les Diablerets to Col du Pillon is free with the Carte Bienvenue.
