Hotel Olden stands in the middle of the car-free Promenade, a few minutes' walk from Gstaad station. There has been an inn here since 1690, and the painted chalet was rebuilt after the fire of 1895. Today it has eight chalet-style suites, three of them in the neighbouring Chalet Marie at 65 to 103 m², including a penthouse on two floors.

The ground floor is given over to eating and drinking: the restaurant Wo die Welt verkehrt with Mediterranean and international cooking, the Pinte, a bar, a terrace and a winter garden facing the Promenade, and La Cave, a cellar with live music and dancing since 1960. There is no spa, no pool and no half board, but e-bikes are free to borrow and the suites have air conditioning. It suits couples and small groups who want to be in the middle of village life and do not mind a lively evening downstairs.

Good to know

Open 3 December 2026 to 14 March 2027; summer runs from mid-May to early October, with exact 2027 dates to come. La Cave opens only 18 December to 3 January and 12 to 28 February. Book through the hotel itself. Parking is behind the house and in an underground garage.
